Ken Barris’s fiction has been translated into Turkish, Danish, French, German, and Slovenian, and his short fiction and poems have appeared in thirty anthologies. He has won various literary awards, including the Ingrid Jonker Prize, the M-Net Book Prize, and the Thomas Pringle Award; most recently, the 2013 University of Johannesburg Prize for his novel Life Underwater, and the 2018 Herman Charles Bosman Prize for a collection of short stories, namely The Life of Worm & Other Misconceptions. He has published five novels, two collections of poetry, and two collections of short stories.
