Olwethu is 25 years old. She is an intern at Riebeek College Girls’ High School while she pursues her education degree. She works with the Helenvale Poets as a co-facilitator and performance coordinator. She also writes with the Ecca Poets. Her poetry is honest and often uncomfortable.
