Nathan Trantraal is a poet, cartoonist, translator, screenwriter and short story author originally from Cape Town. He has won the Ingrid Jonker Prize for poetry and the Jan Rabie/Marjorie Wallace Bursary for his comics. He has made cartoons for The Cape Times, The Cape Argus and writes a bi-weekly column for Rapport. His work has been exhibited in Cape Town, Munich and Amsterdam. Nathan holds a Masters Degree in Creative writing from Rhodes University. He is currently a lecturer at Rhodes University at the School of Languages, where he specialises in Kaapse Afrikaans and the graphic novel.
