Melissa Sussens is a queer veterinarian and poet. Her work has appeared in Germ Magazine, Ja. Magazine, and Odd Magazine, among others. She was selected as one of the winners in the ClemenGold Writing Competition and has performed at the McGregor Poetry festival and at open mic events. She assists Megan Falley in teaching her international online poetry workshops, Poems That Don’t Suck. Melissa’s poems explore her experiences as a veterinarian; queerness; feminism, and becoming.
