Mon 18 March at 19.30: JIM PASCUAL AGUSTIN writes and translates in Filipino and English. He moved from Manila to Cape Town in 1994. His recent books are Bloodred Dragonflies (Deep South/San Anselmo), Crocodiles in Belfast (Vhakololo Press/San Anselmo), and Waking Up to the Pattern Left by a Snail Overnight (Gaudy Boy/Ateneo Press).
STEPHEN SYMONS has published award-winning poetry and short fiction in journals,
magazines, and anthologies, both locally and internationally. His fifth collection, THE
ALGEBRA OF INSIGNIFICANCE, was published in 2024 by Karavan Press. Symons holds a
PhD in History and an MA in Creative Writing.
The event is on the UCT campus in the UCT Philosophy Department's Seminar room, 3rd floor, Humanities Building (formerly Neville Alexander Building, Upper Campus. The Humanities Building is next to Leslie Social Science. Please do not confuse this building with the new Neville Alexander Building on middle campus.
