04 Dec, 19:30 - Lethube Hellen Phaladi, born at Ga-Seroka Village, Sekhukhune District, won the AVBOB poetry prize in 2023. She writes, “I love my Avbob trophy, it looks good on me. I am a professional Nurse and Sangoma who took a break from nursing to go through Sangoma training. My poems have been published in Stanzas Poetry Magazine and in New Coin. My high school teacher Mr Thipane encouraged me to write my thoughts down on paper, that is when I discovered that I could have conversations with my self and my struggles head on. I write because it's therapy.”
