Jade Gibson, anthropologist (PhD), author, and visual artist, is author of the prize-listed novel, Glowfly Dance (PenguinRandomHouse Umuzi), based on a true story of resilience of a young girl facing womanhood in a complex and challenging multicultural life, endorsed by the SA Department of Education. Jade Gibson speaks widely on domestic violence and its impact on children, as well as resilience, strength and finding connection in life, themes echoed in her artwork and poetry. Guest poet at McGregor Poetry Festival, in London, Touch of Madness, published in journals and publications in SA and the USA.
Jade's reading will be followed by the book launch of GRIPSCAPES: Newly Selected Poems of Norman Morrissey, edited by John van Wyngaard, just published by Echoing Green Press, and a short open mic round.
