Hugh Hodge was born in Tavistock Devon, schooled at Rondebosch Boys’ High and graduated from Essex University, majoring in Russian literature and language, the metaphysical poets and modern American prose. Until recently he was the perennial host at Off-the-Wall poetry in Observatory (CT), curating a welcoming environment for fledgling poets and an important space for established poets to test their wares. That Off-the-Wall continues to go from strength to strength is a testimony to the foundations he has laid. Hugh has served as Editor of New Contrast. His poetry has been widely published.
In our 12 October OtW Zoom reading we will be celebrating Hugh’s work in The Compleat Hodge-Podge. Jacques Coetzee will host and Geoff Haresnape, Keith Gottschalk, Oliver Findlay Price, Julia Kramer, and Tauriq Jenkins will be the main readers. There will also be contributions from others in the second half of the evening.
