11 Sept 19.30: Douglas Reid Skinner was born in Upington. He has published eight collections of poems, most recently A Short Treatise on Mortality (uHlanga, 2022). He has translated (alone or together with a co-translator) from Afrikaans, Hebrew, Italian, French, German, Latin, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian and Greek. He has published ten books of translation, most recently Gaius Valerius Catullus: Selected Lyric Poems, from the Latin (in association with Richard Whitaker, 2020) and Marco Fazzini: Poesie Scelte, Selected Poems 1989–2019. He is editor of Stanzas poetry magazine and the English editor and a translator for the AVBOB Poetry Project. Join on Zoom!
