Dawn Garisch is a GP, author and poet, with seven novels, two collections of poetry,
two non-fiction works and a short story collection published. Four novels have been
published in the UK, including Breaking Milk (Heloise Press, 2024). What Remains
(Karavan, 2023) won the NIHSS award for short stories. Her third poetry collection,
The Consulting Room, will be published by Karavan Press.
Founder of the Life Righting Collective , she teaches
writing as a resource for wellbeing and community building.
She lives in Cape Town, has two sons, and sings in a duo, Further Ado, with her
