Dawn Garisch finds poems in difficult situations and on mountain hikes. She is a medical doctor and founding member of an NPO, The Life Righting Collective, teaching poetry and life writing as a resource for mental health. Both reading and writing have been anchors in her life during times of stress, including the pandemic. She has had seven novels, two collections of poetry, a non-fiction work and a memoir published. Her second collection of poetry Disturbance (Karavan Press) came out in 2020.
