Monday 24 February, 19:30: Archie Swanson is an awarded and widely published South African poet with five collections of poetry, and a sixth entitled winnowings, being published later this year. He is a past chair of the South African Literary Journal which publishes New Contrast, and with Bruce Jack was the originator of the National Poetry Prize. Sarah Uheida

Monday 10th February: Sarah Uheida is a Libyan poet and essayist based in Cape Town. She holds bachelors and masters degrees in English Literature, specializing in poetry, from Stellenbosch University. In 2021, Sarah was awarded the prestigious Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarship. She is also the recipient of the 2020 Dan Veach Prize for Young Poets. Sarah’s poetry and lyric essays have been widely anthologized and published in notable journals. She is a regular contributor to poetry readings hosted by groups like Off the Wall and The Red Wheelbarrow. Her debut poetry collection, Not This Tender, is set for release in May.

Bam has performed at prestigious events like Open Book Festival, The National Arts Festival, and Poetry Africa, where she judged the 2023 National Poetry Slam Competition. She is also the co-founder of Slam City, Cape Town’s premier poetry slam.
