Jerome Coetzee is a writer, poet, and Artistic Director for the Centre of Excellence Bishop Lavis. His research focus is on Afrofuturism in contemporary Afrikaans Literature. He has previously been published in LitNet, The Wee Sparrow poetry press (2022), is a National Poetry Prize winner (2021) and was on the longlist for the Sol Plaatje European Union Award (2022). He cowrote a play A pot of Pap at the End of the Rainbow Nation (2024) and a documentary Cooking up Feminism (2025) for Food Agency Cape Town.

Elizabeth Trew, born and raised in Cape Town, left and returned thirty years later in 1991.

She has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of East Anglia, UK, and a Wits MA in English Education. A former librarian and adult education teacher in England a



d Johannesburg, her poems are published in journals and anthologies and a short story in Prodigal Daughters: stories of South African Women in Exile, KZN Press, 2013, edited by Lauretta Ngcobo. She was short-listed for the EU Sol Plaatje Poetry Anthology, 2013. Her debut collection is My Mother the Seal, Hands-On Books, 2023. She is a language-editor and volunteers at a Cape Town girls’ shelter.

Lucienne Argent is a Cape Town-based writer, artist, and counsellor. She has poems published in the Sol Plaatje European Union Anthology, Stanzas, and Think of a Poem, and a short story in Karavan Press’s Tiger anthology. Her debut poetry collection, Self-portrait of a Guava, was published by Karavan Press in 2024.
