Archie Swanson has been widely published in and outside South African, with poems translated into Spanish, Japanese, IsiXhosa and Afrikaans. He has been shortlisted for the Sol Plaatje and UK Bridport prizes. His words have contributed to two Grant McLachlan compositions — a chamber music trio and a piece for the World Choir Games. In 2019, ‘my Guernica’ was English runner-up in the AVBOB Poetry Competition. He has three collections — the stretching of my sky, the shores of years and beyond a distant edge. A fourth collection, winnowings, will be published in mid-2022. Archie is a Director of New Contrast. Instagram: @poetarchie
